Pulmonary Waveform Generator (PWG) Tested
Prototypes have been tested using PWG equipment. A PWG is a computer driven piston that can provide an air velocity versus time waveforms that are used to test pulmonary equipment such as spirometers. The figure below shows the response of the FeatherTone Probe compared to the observed and PWG profile curves for two wave forms. Excellent correlations were obtained indicating that Feaher Sensor technology is accurate at high and low airflow. The prototype provides data that match well with the output from the PWG, indicating that the FeatherTone probe functions accurately as an air-velocity sensor and is suitable for demanding spirometry applications.
